There are a lot of differences between the two of these - we won't be able to get into the complete details, but we will get the general idea across.
An "Equity Investment" is where money is exchanged for ownership in a company or organization. For example - an investment may offer 10% ownership in the company for $10,000. This would give the new investor a stake in the company and would now have the perks and responsibilities of a partial owner.
An "Impact Investment" is where money is loaned - with the intention of it being returned. This may be with or without interest or a premium attached. For example - an investment may ask for $10,000 - a short term 5 year loan with a 5% APR. This would give the new investor a return on their initial money planted. Impact investing can also have no return - a $10,000 investment is paid back over 5 years for a total of $10,000. This type of investment can be entirely to help Christian projects and ideas - without it being strictly a donation.
